This 1-day hands-on course is designed to provide students with the foundation of Thai Herbal massage. This form of Thai Massage blends the profound benefits of heat, aroma, herbs and acupressure. A herbal hot compress is applied to muscles and joints to relieve soreness and pain while increasing levels of flexibility. The heat penetrates the pores, the skin becomes heated, and blood flow is stimulated resulting in a rapid rebuilding and nourishing of the body’s tissues. The herbs hold the heat from the steam to deeply penetrate & relax the muscles. Compress ingredients include: ginger, lemongrass, camphor, eucalyptus and Tiger balm.
The goal of this class is to introduce the student to:
- The healing benefits of Thai Heat Massage
- Compress making: Method of preparation and practice preparing a compress
- Classification of herbs
- Thai recipes for compress, saunas and bath
- Participate and perform Thai heat massage
- Safety precautions for client and practitioner
- Feeling the benefits of receiving a massage

L1a Supine Series – Learn Thai Massage
Thai Massage on the mat or Table Thai on the massage table
This 2-day, hands-on workshop provides students with a strong foundation in the key elements of Thai massage. After participating and completing this course, participants will have the confidence to perform a 60 minute Thai massage session covering techniques in supine (laying on the back) positions.
Participate, perform or describe:
- Breath & meditation techniques
- Alignment & Stability postures
- Structured stances
- Powerful and graceful rocking movement
- Touch techniques, and how to apply them safely
- Metta (loving kindness) and compassion

L1b Side & Prone Series – Learn Thai Massage
Thai Massage on the mat or Table Thai on the massage table
This 2-day, hands-on workshop works in tandem with the first workshop on expanding to side and prone positions. We continue the fundamentals into the next progression of postures, stances and positions to complete the full body segment. .After participating and completing this course, participants will have the confidence to perform a 60 minute Thai massage session covering techniques in side & prone (laying face down) positions.
